An Artists Cooperative based in the Cotswolds with Stroud as its heart.
The Stroud Artists Cooperative was set up in 2021 and our first event was an outdoor Stroud Art Fair with over 40 artists participating! Our aim is to provide a forum for local artists to support each other; learn from each other; provide opportunities and generally work collaboratively with members and other local bodies to promote art and artists in Stroud.
The Cooperative is entirely run by members on a volunteer basis - All are welcome to suggest activities and events (providing you are also happy to help arrange them!). Some areas of the website are still under construction! But we hope that you enjoy looking through our artist pages!
We already have some wonderful local artists' work up at Woodruffs Cafe in Stroud - and feature different artists each month! This month, it's artists Kirsty Tallon and Mike Bowers!
The next event we have planned is planned for May (keep an eye out for further announcements!). This will be an exhibition over two venues - Lansdown Gallery and the Sub Rooms. Its called "One Hundred Artists" and we DO plan to feature 100 member's work - and yes! its a celebration of SAC reaching the 100 members mark :)
The SAC is also hosting Stroud's very first En Plein Air Competition! Registration is open now and all details can be found on our Events page. Download a pdf here ➜

Some of our other events include an annual sketch out and paint retreat in the Gower; portrait painting workshop; Exhibitions; Outdoor Art Fairs (usually around Stroud) plus the ongoing Sunday Sketchers and Painters group. We have lots of ideas for workshops which we hope to arrange through the year...
